UAB Firsts: Celebrating African American Trailblazers In-Person
Please come celebrate UAB Black History featuring a look at African Americans and their achievements as firsts at UAB. We'll review the process of campus integration and move into the firsts (first African American students, faculty, student organizations, faculty organizations, etc.) and into the post-1969 years when UAB became independent. The discussion will consist of various firsts all the way up to the present times. Our special guest will be Timothy Pennycuff, Associate Professor & University Archivist. Co-sponsored by UAB Libraries, African American Faculty Association and UAB's Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion.
