Holographic Healthcare Training. Extended Reality Demonstration from GigXR. In-Person
The UAB Libraries will host Joy Jacobs of GigXR in the Lister Hill Library Virtual Reality Studio Wednesday, March 29, from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm. Joy will provide demonstrations of holographic simulated patients and holographic anatomy using the Microsoft Hololens 2. Holographic simulation is rapidly being adopted in many industries as a new way to extend available skills training and practice opportunities for students and staff.
This demonstration is highly recommended for anyone at UAB interested in extended reality and metaverse technology, even if their area of expertise is not directly related to healthcare. To meet Joy or try the holographic simulated patients in mixed reality, visit the Lister Hill Library Virtual Reality Studio any time between 10:00 am and 3:00 pm. No appointments are required though registration is encouraged.
The Virtual Reality Studio is located on the 1st floor of Lister Hill Library of the Health Sciences, next to the HUB Services Desk.
